Overview

If you are looking for a spacious, well appointed house and an enjoyable scenic stroll to the beach, then The Friary in Chideock is the place for you. The property has been stylishly decorated with wooden flooring throughout and vibrant complimenting touches.  The house is perfect for sleeping up to 6 guests in three good-sized bedrooms (two twin rooms and one double) and the house has proved to be popular even for couples or groups of 3 or 4 who wish to have more space. The Friary is in a great position away from the main road behind the Clock Inn so traffic noise is minimal.  The Friary is accessed through the The Clock Inn car park.

Centrally-heated, the spacious living room with two large comfortable sofas, has a smart TV with freeview. There is a no-hassle gas ‘woodburner’ stove providing a warm focal point to the room in autumn and winter months. Ceiling to floor full height glass doors bring the outside patio area inside in the spring and summer months.

Kitchen

The sociable, well equipped and spacious, kitchen is large with pine table in the middle surrounded by modern appliances and cupboards to one side and with floor to ceiling doors leading to the sunny outside patio area. It is well equipped with a double-oven electric cooker with gas hob, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge/freezer, microwave and coffee machine. The lighting can be adjusted for romantic evening meals or practical reading of the papers.

Sleeping

Upstairs, there are three good-sized bedrooms including the spacious master bedroom with ensuite shower room and a comfortable king size bed. It has seating and a desk suitable for working too.  The second and third bedrooms have 2 single beds each.  All the bedrooms are stylishly decorated to compliment the vibrant rugs and wall art. All rooms have good storage space with wardrobes and chest of drawers.

Bathing

The family bathroom is upstairs with bath and shower, wash basin and WC. The main bedroom has ensuite shower room with large shower, wash basin and WC.

Parking

Designated parking for up to 2 cars just by the entrance of the cottage and other free parking is available in North Road, nearby.

Outside

There is a south-west facing courtyard patio at the Friary with table, chairs, seating areas and plants and is literally a step outside the house. The kitchen and living room extends to the full width of the house with access to each via two sets of double door windows. Garden furniture and BBQ provided. It is fully fenced and private.

Pets

Sorry, the Friary does not accept pets.

What’s Included

Changeover days are Fridays, but we can be flexible in winter for any day start. The price includes heating, electricity, bed linen and towels, fresh flowers and a welcome tea tray all ready for you on arrival. High chair, cot and stairgates are available – please ask. Free Wi-Fi access in cottage.

Why is it Special?

The Friary is the perfect house for all the seasons as it affords easy access to the patio area in the summer as well as wintertime lazy days spent around the kitchen table or cosy evenings by the large gas burner in the living room. The beach at Seatown is just a 15 minute stroll away. The excellent  village pub, The Clock, is conveniently just next door and  The Anchor at Seatown is right by the beach at Seatown.
